Extension Downloader Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026This policy covers the browser extension Chrome Extension Downloader & Source Code Viewer – CRX Extractor (Chrome Web Store ID hbebhdjoipaccjdkpbcedhnfabgdpcik), published by balubenko, Inc., United States. Contact: info@verblike.com.
1. Summary
The extension does not collect, store on any server, sell or share personal data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. It does not read the content of the web pages you visit.
2. What happens when you use it
- Viewing or downloading an extension. The extension asks Google's extension update service (
clients2.google.com, redirected toclients2.googleusercontent.com) for the package of the extension you chose. The request contains that extension's ID, your operating system, processor architecture and Chrome version, which Google needs to return the right package. It is sent without cookies. This is the same service Chrome uses when you install an extension; Google's privacy policy applies to it. No other network request is made by the extension. - Opening a file from your computer. The file is read inside your browser and never uploaded anywhere.
- Saving a ZIP or CRX file. The file is created on your device and saved through Chrome's downloads.
- Leaving a review. If you choose to, the extension opens its Chrome Web Store review page in a new tab. Anything you write there is handled by Google.
3. What is stored on your device
| Setting | Purpose | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Whether the right-click menu item is shown | Remembering your choice on the settings page | Chrome sync storage (synced across your browsers only if you use Chrome sync) |
| Whether a review prompt is pending, and whether you opened the review page | Showing or hiding the review prompt | Local storage on this device |
None of this is sent to us. Removing the extension deletes it.
4. Permissions
- activeTab: reads the address of the current tab only when you click the toolbar button, to find which extension listing you are on.
- declarativeContent: enables the toolbar button only on Chrome Web Store listing pages, without reading those pages.
- contextMenus: adds "View extension source" to the right-click menu on links to store listings.
- storage: keeps the settings listed above.
- downloads: saves the ZIP file you asked for.
